A Nurses’ Hand
A pair of gloves, I see
Fit for nurse hands only
Rubber and blue
Plastic and red
Gloves come in all colors and sizes
Not just for scrubbing the head
Wiping the tush from front to back
Then we throw them away in a sack.
Time for a bath, No time to slack!
Wash their face and their chest
Wash their back then the rest
Cleanest to dirtiest is what they say
Because they wouldn’t have it any other way
Up and out of the shower you go
Time for bed, don’t you know?
On with the slippers
Out with the teeth
Off with the glasses
Don’t forget the sheets!
Out with the lights
On with the shift
On to the next resident
Who gave you a gift
Time for more gloves
For these nurse hands
We’ll keep doing this til the shift ends.
