Prom is coming up and many people want to be tan in their overly priced dresses. However, what measures will people go to to make sure they look “the best” at prom? Many girls will buy dresses that are $200 dollars or more, along with tanning packages, nails, hair and makeup. To save some money on tanning, I am here to tell you about spray tanning and UAV tanning that can save you some money!
Earth Angels Gifts and Bare Naked Tanning is the local tanning salon located at 130 W Jefferson Street. As an employee I thought I would give you some information on the options you have there. They sell two different kinds of tanning packages Platinum and Gold. The Platinum package includes the “bigger” bed out of the three with a built in face, facial tanner, flat bed with high canvas so you don’t feel like you are right next to the lights. It is only a 12 minute bed too because the bulbs are stronger than the smaller beds. The Gold package comes with beds that are smaller and without a facial tanner or built in fan. For instance, the bottom that you would lay in is round and the lid closes down on you super close so there is not much room to move around. I got the chance to talk to some people who already tan in the bigger bed and senior, Joni Burris said: “I like the bigger bed because it is more roomie and it comes with a built in facial tanner and fan. It also requires less time to be in the bed in case I am in a hurry. I like to tan because it looks better than pale skin. It is also very relaxing.”
We sell memberships, monthly, weekly, and single session packages. If you are starting to tan now, the best way to save money would be to buy only two months of tanning, If you were to start in January or February the best bet would be to get the membership. The memberships are three month minimums and you have to save your credit card information in the system to it automatically is taken out every month. If you are someone who doesn’t mind what bed you use, you would save more money by getting the Gold packages. Some people though like to be able to move around and prefer the built in fan and facial tanner so they will pay a little more each month. To start off, Platinum membership is 49.95 and every month after they would be 34.95. The Gold is cheaper only being 39.95 to start and 24.95 every month after that! I interviewed Senior, Vanessa Bakley she said: “I tan because I don’t want to look pasty white.”
Spray tanning is the cheapest way to go and a healthier choice. Depending on the skin type, they have level 2, 3 and double dark. The level 2 would be for someone who has fair skin and usually blonde hair and blue eyes. The level 3 would be recommended for brown hair and brown eyes. The double dark is for anyone who wants to be extra dark. The spray tan is the healthiest way to go, but don’t get too dark or else you might look a little orange. If you get the right one, you will look like you have a healthy tan! There are many options if you want to look darker for prom, these are some tips if you want to try and save a little money. But, no matter how dark or light color your skin is, you will look beautiful!
