With every teen needing and wanting money, how does having a job affect your schooling? At this age every teen wants money so they can go out to eat, a lot, or to just enjoy the simple things a little bit easier. But does having a job in school affect how you are able to focus in school? Or are you academically stable?
I asked Sidney Marker (who doesn’t have a job); “ Does not having a job in high school affect how you do? For better or for worse? Do you wish you had a job or are you glad you don’t?
Marker replied; “I don't think it really affects me. I don't use that time to do work so it doesn’t make me do better.”
To get a different view from someone who did have a job I then asked Houston Archer; Does having a job in high school affect how you do? For better or worse? Are you glad you have a job or wish you didn’t?
Archer replied; “It’s nice having a job and money but to make any decent money you have to work all the time it consumes a lot of time. If I’m working that night what homework I have will not get done.”
Overall depending on the student and how much they are actually working can determine how it really affects students in school. Working is not a bad thing but when it starts affecting how you do academically it is time to start balancing out school and your job.
