Have you ever felt like school wasn’t important and that it would be easier to just drop out? Sometimes school can get so stressful that we feel like it would be easier if we didn’t have to go to school. However dropping out doesn’t solve any problems; instead it forces you to grow up and get a job. In today’s world, students are told you have to have a high school diploma to get a decent job, and a college degree to live comfortably. It’s an endless cycle. While we are in school juggling the work, drama, family, and part time job can get so overwhelming that we don’t see the point in continuing. Junior, Christiana Ramirez was one of those students who was struggling with keeping up with the workload. She contemplated dropping out stating: “It was too much on me and I just couldn’t handle all of it.” Although Ramirez has considered dropping out of high school, she has chosen to stay in school and obtain her high school diploma. When we are stressed we don’t think straight because the stress takes over and makes us think there is no way out. We could be a really good student and then the stress gets too much to handle. At times we may start to slowly lose motivation and start letting our grades slip to avoid some of the stress. Regardless, the stress will always be there, you just have to face it head on. If you ever think dropping out is easier think of what kind of future you will have for yourself.
