Roll Tide to Nationals

Speech Nationals is a once in a year contest that lasts roughly about a week. It is a great experience that passed Clarke students and current Clarke students have enjoyed such as Parker Smith, Zach Smith, and Timber Kent. National Qualifier, which is in Iowa City this year, will be on February 10th through the 11th. Candidates that will be attending this event are John Echeveste, Nathan Porter, Riley Elben, Maddy Mickle, and Sam Beldon. John and Nathan will be doing a Duo Interp while Nathan is also doing a POI. Elben will be participating in a Humorous Interp. Maddy and Sam are both double entered as they both will be doing a Dramatic Interp and a POI. After a hard fought weekend this results are in. Riley and Maddy did not make it to the finals. Sam got the 4th alternate in POI while John and Nathan were two points away from making nationals making the three year streak of having Clarke go to nationals end. Nick Johnston started the streak and Clarke will try their hardest next year at National Qualifier.
